BACKGROUND

Established on June 20, 1969, under the Public Enterprises Decree of 1966, Legal Notice No. 11 of 1969, Zanzibar Insurance Corporation (ZIC) operates under the Public Investment Act No. 4 of 2002. Owned by the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar through the Ministry of Finance and Planning, ZIC is a Parastatal organization.

Brief

ZIC is seeking dynamic and competitive Insurance staff to facilitate the expansion of its business. The focus is on actively identifying and acquiring new clients, with the ultimate goal of building robust relationships to drive growth and maintain Zanzibar Insurance Corporation’s esteemed reputation.

The Corporation invites qualified Tanzanians to fill the following positions:

Sales Officers – 7 Posts at Zanzibar Insurance Corporation (ZIC)

• Dar es Salaam (2)
• Arusha (2)
• Mtwara (1)
• Dodoma (1)
• Kahama (1)

Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement effective marketing strategies for selling new insurance contracts or adjusting existing ones.
2. Reach out to potential clients through networking, calls, and social media.
3. Assess the needs of business or individual customers and promote suitable protection plans.
4. Gather information from clients regarding their risk profiles to provide appropriate solutions.
5. Prepare reports for the head of the department on the success of business activities.
6. Maintain continuous awareness of transactions, sales, and terms, keeping relevant records.
7. Perform other duties consistent with assigned responsibilities as directed by the supervisor.

Requirements and Skills

1. Proven experience in Insurance Sales.
2. Solid understanding of insurance plans, including motor, fire, life, property, etc.
3. Proficiency in working with computers and interpreting standard statistical findings.
4. Experience in delivering client-focused solutions and building enduring relationships.
5. Excellent knowledge of insurance policies and the ability to relate policy provisions to loss exposures.
6. Degree in Insurance and Risk Management.

Remuneration:

Remuneration will be in accordance with ZIC salary scales and other terms and conditions of ZIC.
